This wonderful old mesh netting Santa Claus candy container was made in Japan before World War II. It's just over 7 inches long from the red cotton cap to the little black boots. Santa has a thin, hand painted celluloid face and molded clay composition hands and boots.
The mesh body has age discoloration as shown. The drawstring gathering the mesh body around the neck to hold the candy is missing. The very thin celluloid face mask is intact with no cracks or damage. The boots and hands are also intact. Overall, the container is in remarkably good condition for a Christmas item of this type and age.
