I bought this green glass pitcher about 15 years ago knowing full well it isn't Depression glass, but I wanted it for display with my green Block Optic collection and couldn't find (or afford) an actual Depression era pitcher in that pattern. The main clue is the shape - it's far too modern for Depression era glassware and the glass is too heavy. It's 8-1/2 inches high by 7-1/2" wide across the top from handle to pour spout and holds a little over 40 ounces. No damage, scratches, or cloudiness.
Permit me a little rant on the subject of glass collecting. Google's AI assures me that this pitcher is indeed a genuine Hocking Block Optic depression era pitcher, and that I can be confident in that fact because Block Optic has never been reproduced. As both a dealer and collector, I have an extensive library of glass ID books and catalogs and I know better. Do not ever trust AI as the definitive source, use it only as a starting point for your own research. AI simply collates online text from Ebay and other online sellers, many of whom through ignorance or fraud are claiming recently made glassware to be genuine or old.
