This Depression era green glass mixing bowl is often confused with similar bowls by Federal, though the ribbing in more narrow on Federal Bowls. According to Florence's Hazel Atlas identification book, the square base wide ribbed pattern is Pillar Optic Rib. The large size bowl measures almost 11 inches diameter across the rim by 4-3/4" high. The uranium content makes the bowl glow neon green under black light.
There are no chips, flakes, or cracks and the bowl displays well. However, if viewed up close, you can see it's had a long, productive life with many stir marks inside and rub wear from nested storage.
