This 1950s tole painted metal and wicker laundry hamper is from the 1950s and still in great shape. The back and sides are white wicker, the front is steel metal, bright white with a pretty hand painted tole bouquet of pink roses and rosebuds. The tole work is real, not screened - you can actually see and feel the brush strokes.
The hamper is 25 inches high, 21" wide and 12" deep front to back. The green and black vinyl covering on the hinged lid is intact. Part of the original label is inside, indicating that it's a Pearl-Wick hamper, made in Long Island City New York. The only condition issue is some paint wear along the bottom metal band in front. I missed a few minor soil spots to the finish when cleaning. There are a few tiny, pinpoint scratches to the paint, nothing even noticeable, but no dents or dings. The wicker is completely intact with no breaks or tears. A super attractive and functional piece for your bedroom, bath or hallway.
