This early 1950s electric ice cream maker is the Dolly Madison County Fair model from the J.E. Porter Company of Ottawa Illinois. It's their earliest electric model - the motor label is marked "Patent Applied For" and the bucket is an adaptation of the older hand-crank version. By 1956, the company's advertisements featured buckets made of fiberglass plastic rather than wood.
The unit is complete with the exception of an instruction manual: 10-1/2 by 13 inch wood freezer bucket with bail handle, enameled steel electric motor mount, 5-1/2 by 11 inch stainless steel freezing container, and dasher paddle. The 5-3/4 foot rubber cord and plug are in good condition with no damage, and the motor runs well. The bucket has some mild finish wear to the exterior as shown.
