This fancy antique wire wrapped Christmas ornament was made in Germany in the 1920s, possibly earlier. The blown glass ornament is a long pike double indent teardrop, red with green tinted centers. It's wrapped with curly gold bullion wire and has a Dresden paper scrap cherub or angel attached to the pike. Three wired tinsel clover loops are attached to the base, allowing the ornament to stand, and a long wired tinsel handle allows the ornament to be hung from the tree. Overall length to the top of the handle is 7-3/4 inches.
The glass ornament has a few rubs to the red gel paint from contact with the wires. The angel is likely missing part of the left side arm, though it's not noticeable unless you know to look for it. There are no chips or breaks, and the wire wrappings are intact and tight.
