A set of nine 1800s German tin clips for holding candles on the Christmas tree, used before electric lighting. They're quite plain but also quite scarce. Although made for candles, they were also used as clips for antique German ornaments, with the ornament pike glued into the metal cup. Most are plain, their lead based colors worn off years ago, but a few still have some color. They're about 1-1/2 inches long with adjustable ruffled collars that can expand or contract a bit to fit. All nine have working serrated clamps.
