This type of antique wired tinsel and glass Christmas ornament appeared in wholesaler catalogs from the early 1900s to early 1920s, imported from Germany. They are simpler versions of the elaborate Victorian tinsel decorations. The three ornaments are 3-1/2 to about 5 inches long. One is a heart with striped silver, red, and blue glass ornament inside and red lacquered berry at the bottom. Another is a kite shape with mercury glass red bead and strands of crinkled tinsel. The last ornament is gold long drop framed by lush long strand gold tinsel. The glass ornaments have lost much of their inner silvering and color over the years and the tinsel needs fluffing out after long time storage.
