An unusual and delightful hand wrought copper plate or charger from the Arts and Crafts to early Art Deco era, 9-3/4 inches diameter. In the center is an all-over acid engraved scene of an angel fish in water amid seaweed and bubbles. The wide rim is decorated with six wavy ruffles. The plate has wonderfully even original patina and is in excellent condition.
The back is marked with the letter C (or possibly O) above the words Wrought Art Hand Made. I've found only three other copper pieces online with the same mark but they all have the initials PW rather than C. One was a small bowl with the same fish decoration. Unfortunately my research has led to no further information about the maker.
