This boxy red and white galvanized steel picnic or beer cooler is from the 1950s. An Eskimo figure and the words Cooler Chest (with a misplaced accent on the first "e" for some reason) decorate the front. The chest measures 14-3/4 by 12 inches not including the lid and is 13" deep to the rubber rim. One side has a built-in bottle opener, the detached lid has a steel handle. There is no carry handle, the original was just a length of hollow metal pipe, bent so that the ends inserted into the two holes at the sides. There are scratches, dents, and dings as shown. It does not leak.
