This is the rare 1950s ceramic pottery Santa Claus standing at the Christmas fireplace planter and candle holder made by Treasure Craft of California. Collectors of their Lucky Sprite line of pixie elf figurines are almost always delighted to find these Santas which bear a definite resemblance to the Treasure Craft pixies.
The hand molded, hand painted Santa stands in front of a dark green pottery fireplace, decorated with holly springs and bows. Taper candles fit into the top sides, and an opening between the candle holders is for Christmas greenery or candy canes. The planter is 4-1/2 inches high by 5 inches wide by 3-1/4" deep front to back. Santa is about 4 inches high. The planter has no markings and the original foil Treasure Craft label is missing, though there is an old florist price tag on the bottom. Condition is very good with no damage aside from two small filled-in glaze pops. White spots in the photos are from reflections or glare.
