This silvered glass Christmas ornament was made in 1983 West Germany by Inge-Glas from the original antique mold. The rare early German version is known to collectors as "Hindenburg Flying Over New York" and can be seen in Lightner's book Christmas Rarities.
The ornament is 3 inches high and has a stippled star texture. Embossed ovals on both sides depict the airship flying in the sky over city skyscrapers. The colors are red, blue, and gold over silver. It's in mint condition, as are the original box and certificate.
