This scarce late 1930s German large blown mercury glass diorama scene Christmas ornament has a painted hard plastic barefoot horn blowing angel inside the deeply recessed center indent. The rim opening of the 3 inch ornament is framed with an applied white mica glittered paper border with jagged ice-frost edges. Behind the angel are wispy clouds of pink and blue angel hair spun glass which is reflected in the silver back wall.
The ornament has a non-standard antique wire hanger. It's attached at the pike, which is at the back of the ornament instead of at the top, and extends to the rim opening. The glass concave ball is in wonderful condition with no damage or silvering loss. The stiff paper border has two minor splits but is firmly attached.
