This 1940s black kettle shape pottery wall pocket by the California Cleminsons is pictured in Jack Chipman's Collector's Encyclopedia of California Pottery. It's about 4-1/2 inches high to the rim by 5" wide. The hand painted decoration is a flowered heart shape with the words "... The kitchen is the heart of the home!". The original wire bail handle is present. There is some typical crazing to the light colored areas, no damage.
