This Mid Century Modern ruby red art glass centerpiece bowl was made by Viking Glass as part of their Epic line from the early 1960s. It measures 10 inches diameter by 4 inches high and has six deep petals at the rim along with a 6-petal flower shape base. The bottom center of the bowl is lighter in color, almost red-orange, as is typical of Viking's ruby colored glass.
There is a 1-1/4 inch smooth to the touch straw mark from manufacture in the bottom of the bowl that may be mistaken for a scratch at first sight. There are no chips or damage, but the bowl was once used to hold a plant or flowers apparently, as there is faint interior water line below the petal separations. It's noticeable only when held to the light at a certain angle and I didn't try to remove it. There are many online methods such as vinegar, baking soda, even toothpaste but I didn't want to risk causing scratches or finish loss. White spots in the photos are from reflections and glare.
