This pair of vintage hand painted majolica-type embossed ceramic salt and pepper shakers depicts a pixie-like green suited Jack climbing the vines of his beanstalk. They are part of the Jack and the Beanstalk line of figural pottery kitchenware made in Japan in the 1930s and 1940s for L. Batlin & Sons, a New York giftware importer. Two different shaker sets in the line were made, this is the larger and harder to find range shaker set.
They're about 3-3/4 inches high by 2-1/4" diameter. The cork stoppers are missing and there is some fine, light crazing to the lighter colored areas. No chips, flakes, staining, or damage.
