A very unusual Mid Century hammered aluminum bowl in deep purple red magenta or fuchsia with hand painted pink roses at one side. The finish appears to be anodized and lacquered, it's rather metallic in appearance. The bowl is large and shallow, measuring about 13-1/2 inches diameter by 2" deep. I has some issues but still displays wonderfully and is such an unusual piece.
There's a shallow ding on the rim just to the left of the upper rosebud. The painted flowers have some flaking and wear as shown. There are some tiny spatters of white paint in the bowl, and a few small scratches or scuffs. I didn't try to clean the bowl at all but I was able to get some of the paint specks off with gentle pressure of my fingernail, and some soiling that at first appeared to be scuffing also came off that way. The underside of the bowl has an incised circular mark reading Hand Wrought Sarg.
