This early 1900s antique child's feeding plate or bowl was made in Bavaria Germany by Royal Bayreuth. They did a series of children's dishes with nursery rhyme characters - this one depicts Little Jack Horner. The verse is printed in a cartouche above the illustration of little Jack. There are Christmas wreaths on the wall and floor and the inner rim of the dish is bordered by a leaf and berry garland, possibly holly.
The baby dish has the typical high, nearly straight rim and heavy flat base to resist sliding and tipping. It measures 7-1/2" diameter by 1-1/2" deep. There are no chips, flakes, or hairlines and the decoration is in very good condition for being more than 100 years old, a couple of minor scratches as shown. The underside has the blue PT facing lions mark.
