A wonderful old chenille and cotton composition Santa ornament from either pre-war Japan or Germany. Santa has a molded clay head with hand painted features, beard, and hair. He sits atop a soft cotton ball which was painted white and coated with white mica glitter. Pink foil holly leaves cap the ball at the top. A wired curly rayon loop forms a swing for Santa to hold onto, and there's a wire hook at the top for hanging. Total height not including the wire hanger is about 4 inches, the stiffened cotton ball is about 2" diameter. There is a little wear to the paint and glittered coating on the ball, otherwise the ornament is in good vintage condition.
