This vintage black and white Cocker or Springer Spaniel chalkware figure is a large bank with the coin slot at the back below the collar so it can easily be displayed as a figurine. It stands nearly 12 inches high by about 10-1/2" long. It was likely produced as a fair or carnival prize between the 1930s and 1950s.

The dog is more realistic looking than most chalk figures of this type and it's in great condition. There are some typical small nicks and scuffs, all minor and minimal. There are no chips or cracks - the little white areas are all paint rubs or scratches (some are just reflections). Most chalkware banks were broken to get the money out, but this one just has a carefully cut or drilled hole in the bottom and some old tape marks. The last photo shows the dog with his or her twin, also listed in my shop.
