This large hand wrought aluminum basket tray was made by Farber & Shevlin of Brooklyn New York in the 1930s to early 1940s. The scalloped basket rim is decorated with sprays of roses and leaves embossed in high relief. The center insert is a dinner size 10" porcelain china plate with a decal transfer scene of a Colonial couple dancing to a flute player's music. The basket is 15-3/4 inches diameter. The twisted double handle height is 8 inches. The plate is marked on the back "A product of Farber & Shevlin Inc. Brooklyn N.Y.".
The entire basket is in excellent condition - the plate has no scratches, crazing, or damage of any kind, and the aluminum is shiny and spotless. The large size means oversize shipping rates will apply, but Fedex Ground is available.
