An antique unsilvered free blown glass German Christmas ornament, made in the late Victorian era (circa 1890s). It's in the form of a closed parasol, measuring just under 9 inches long. The ornament has flat paint decoration in very bright fuchsia pink and is wrapped in coiled gold bullion wire. The long unsilvered pike is spiral wrapped with wired yellow thread and a little silk tassel. The wires are amazingly intact, and so is the painted finish. flaking only a bit at the base of the neck. The only issue is a chip to the edge of the pike opening, which is a perfectly common thing even in ornaments many decades newer than this one. The lower spike tip isn't broken, it just has a clear pontil that is hard to see in the photos.
