This Mid Century wooden silverware box has two lined sections to store your flatware, one 2 inches deep in the main compartment under the hinged lid and the other 1-1/2 inches deep in a pull-out drawer below. The box holds service for twelve plus serving pieces and is probably stained walnut or maple, quite heavy, and has a wavy grain which is more prominent on the top. The lining fabric is brown, soft with a thick flannel-like nap. These boxes were almost always made with anti-tarnish linings, I'm sure this one is no exception.
The chest has several minor, very small scratches, nothing serious. The inside is in good condition with no tears or damage. There are no labels or manufacturer markings. About 14-3/4" by 11" by 5 inches high.
