This petite Mid Century glass ball shade is for a double light desk or student lamp, though it would also work as a ceiling light globe with a smaller mounting, such as in a bathroom. It's about 5-3/4 inches diameter, satin finished white glass with an ornate gold feather scroll band around the center and a gold 8-petal flower at the top. I'd call it subdued Hollywood Regency style, but it would also work with classical, colonial, or Early American decor. I'm attributing the shade to the now defunct Vianne Glass Factory of France. It no longer has its label, but I've found numerous examples like mine that do have labels.
The fitter base is slightly flared, measuring 3-1/8" diameter at the outside edge. The bottom edge is smoothly finished, not rough cut. The shade is in excellent vintage condition with no scratches, chips, or gold loss. The camera flash gives the appearance of color variations in the photos but the coloring is even throughout.
