This circa 1950 Sunbeam model SP-3 electric controlled heat 3 quart chrome saucepan disappeared from the market shortly after the company came out with their deep fryer cooker appliance in 1952. The new fryer was basically the saucepan with two short handles, a basket, and the heat control on the pot itself. You can deep fry in this appliance too, Sunbeam just didn't think to market it that way.
The pot is about 7 inches high on its four black Phenolic legs (not including the lid) and is 8-1/2" diameter. The heat control handle has a great Art Deco style red and black Bakelite arrow temperature dial. Suggested cooking times for various foods are printed on the handle, where there is also a working red power indicator light. The chrome finish is in good, clean condition with a few water spots from cleaning and some minor storage marks. The interior has a few shallow pitting marks that are smooth to the touch. The cord and original Bakelite plug are in good condition with no splits, cracks, or other issues. The saucepan heats up well and is fully functional.
