This chromed steel electric lighted star Christmas tree top decoration was the first type patented by Noma in 1924. Five dark blue C-6 type light bulbs fit into the Bakelite sockets to form the star points. The center is embossed with the phrase A Merry Christmas. The pigtail plug at the end of the cloth-wrapped cord is designed to screw into the end socket of a C6 light string.
The star measures 6-1/2 inches wide by 7-1/2 inches long including the clothespin type clamp at the bottom. The metal star is in excellent, shiny condition with none of the pitting, corrosion, or rust I usually see on these toppers. All five bulbs light up well and the cord has no fraying or damage. The wonderful Art Deco red and green box is in very good condition for its age with one partial split on a lid corner.
