These charming 1950s flat backed porcelain angels by Yona have blonde hair, blue eyes, and pink robes. They're about 3-3/4 inches high and have gold cord hangers. The backs are marked Yona Original Japan. Both are in very good vintage condition with no damage. They are widely thought to be Christmas ornaments, but I believe they were marketed more generically year round for use as wall decorations.
Yona Lippin was a decorator for Hedi Schoop before starting her own California ceramics business in the 1940s. By the mid 1950s Yona Ceramics contracted to have their products manufactured in Japan.
