This big and gorgeous 1960s to 1970s wall clock is made from a 2-1/4 inch thick cut tree slice or slab of cypress wood with beautiful grain. The oval egg shape clock is quite large, measuring 18 inches high by 15 inches wide at the extreme points. The grain is simply beautiful, with distinctive swirled rings and dimensional light and dark coloring. It's finished with a glass-like thick epoxy resin coating on the front and back.
The Junghans quartz clock movement was made in Germany and runs on a single C battery. A sawtooth wall hanger is attached to the back. There are some light scuffs to the epoxy finish between 5 and 6 o'clock, shown in extreme closeup in the 5th photo. The minute hand has a tiny, shallow depression at the mid point. It doesn't affect movement but you may wish to change out the hands. especially if you prefer a more modern hand style. The clock kept accurate time during my 30 minute test. A standard size coffee cup is shown in the last photo for scale.
