Three vintage children's valentines, dating from the first decade of the 1900s. The card with the little girl sitting among roses is embossed and glossy, about 3-3/4 inches high. The closeup picture shows some old adhesive that was stuck to the front but I was able to remove it without harming the graphics.
The valentine with the mail carrier dog is mechanical. The dog's head swivels to show a smiling face and a gruff face. It's 3-1/2 inches high, also printed on glossy cardstock with a stand-up post on the back.
The polar bear valentine is 4-1/4 inches long. An unpunched loop at the top with the number 5 allows the recipient to hang it from a cord or string. Or you can fold back the tabs on the bottom to make it stand up. All three valentines are signed in pencil on the backs.
