This was quite a rare item from Gregorian Copper, a decorative balance scale or scales of justice with a simple but pretty scrolly center support. Unfortunately the center support and base have become detached, but the solid copper chained weight plates are perfectly useful in just about any scale. I'll include all parts in case the buyer wants to reattach the base. I've successfully used JB Weld in the past to repair broken metal parts.
The scale dates to the 1960s. The underside of the base is engraved "Gregorian Copper 700". When put together, it measures 15 inches tall at the center with arms that extend 17 inches across. The two weights are 5 inch solid copper plates on copper metal chains. The last photo shows my own scale displayed with glass grape clusters like those listed for sale elsewhere in my shop. Plastic flowers, fruit, and even candy were other items commonly displayed on the plates of decorative scales in their Mid Century heyday.
