This rustic hand wrought copper box is from the early 20th Century, perhaps a little earlier. It measures 7-3/4 by 5-3/4 by 2-1/2 inches high. The interior sides and bottom are wood lined. The lid has a slightly domed flowering branch decoration embossed in high relief with a simple dot and dash border. It was well used (maybe as a cigarette box or humidor) but the hinge is intact and functional and there are no scratches or serious dents. The maroon red coloring is unusual and attractive.
