This beautiful 11-3/4 inch Arts and Crafts era hammered copper charger tray or plate was made by (or for) the Manning Bowman Company and is a rare example of their early giftware line. It has a more substantial weight than most MB copper items. There is an applied patina to the bump and angled scallop rim which apparently dripped during the making, causing a 1/4 inch oval dark spot and a couple of smaller ones. It looks like someone unsuccessfully tried to remove the larger spot. The back is stamped M.B. Means Best, Trademark, Manning-Bowman & Co., Meriden Conn. Made in U.S.A.
